Supporting Comfort Across a River-Edge Campus
Wellington College, Kharadi needed a dependable mosquito control solution to reduce mosquito pressure around outdoor circulation and daily entry movement. With the Mula-Mutha river running alongside the property, mosquito activity was higher near the edge zones. Our team planned a site-specific deployment that supports smoother campus operations and day-to-day comfort.
Site Conditions and Why Mosquito Pressure Was High
The property sits close to the Mula-Mutha river edge, where breeding can increase near water-side pockets and damp zones. Pune’s monsoon months can also leave wet patches near river corridors, which can push mosquito movement into nearby boundary and outdoor use areas.
For a campus setting, even small discomfort shows up quickly during entry times, outdoor transitions, and daily movement across open zones.
A Tailored Solution Based on Physical Survey
We carried out a physical survey to understand high-exposure zones, river-side pressure points, and likely resting pockets along shaded edges. We also considered surrounding water influence, general airflow cues, and peak-time movement patterns so the plan fits daily campus operations.
Based on this assessment, we designed a custom deployment plan:
What Guests Experience
- Easier outdoor movement with fewer bite-related distractions near the campus edge.
- Better comfort during entry and exit periods when people gather briefly.
- Cleaner-feeling outdoor pockets without frequent visible disturbance.
- A calmer campus environment for students, parents, and staff during daily routines.
What the Hotel Experienced
- 84% reduction in mosquito density, as recorded.
- Less reactive effort needed to manage mosquito pressure around key outdoor zones.
- Reduced pressure on teams managing outdoor comfort
- More stable day-to-day comfort without interruptions to normal site operations.
After the deployment, outdoor movement feels more comfortable, especially near the river-side edge zones.
