Mosquito control planned for a large commercial campus
K Raheja Gigaplex in Airoli needed a dependable mosquito control solution that supports visitor comfort and smooth site operations across a large footprint. With a nala passing next to the property, mosquito movement can show up quickly around boundary edges, parking walks, and entry routes. We worked with the site team to plan deployment in the right zones so the experience stays calmer during daily footfall hours.
Understanding the site and its mosquito pressure
The brief highlighted a nala running alongside the property, which can raise mosquito pressure when water pockets and damp edges form near the boundary. In large commercial campuses, mosquitoes also tend to settle in shaded resting areas near landscaped belts and quieter corners, then move towards active zones during evening footfall.
A thoughtful, site-specific solution
Our team studied the site layout, key pressure points, and where mosquitoes are likely to enter and rest. We also considered general airflow cues, boundary-side water influence, and the way people move between parking, entries, and open corridors during peak hours.
Deployment plan
41 mosquito control systems were deployed across boundary edges, entry routes, and outdoor circulation zones.
Placement focused on likely resting pockets and high-exposure movement paths identified during the site review.
Coverage was planned to reduce mosquito movement from the nala-side edge into visitor-facing areas.
The layout was aligned with security and maintenance routines so daily operations stayed consistent.
What Visitors Experience
- More comfortable walks from the parking to the entrances, especially during evenings.
- Less distraction while waiting near gates and outdoor pockets.
- A cleaner outdoor environment without reliance on strong-smelling treatments.
- Better comfort across open corridors and boundary-side movement zones
What the Site Team Observed
- An 85% reduction in mosquito density was recorded.
- Fewer mosquito-related complaints around high-footfall edges.
- Reduced need for repeated quick-fix treatments near entry areas.
- Smoother coordination for security and maintenance teams in outdoor zones.
Earlier, the nala-side edge would show mosquito pressure during peak hours. After deployment, the campus feels more comfortable around movement zones.
Saurabh Patil, Facility ManagerThe placement planning made a difference. Entry routes and open pockets are easier to manage now during daily footfall.
