Understanding the Site and Its Challenges
Courtyard by Marriott Gorakhpur sits near Ramgarh Tal, a large water body that shapes the property’s outdoor environment.
Being close to the river, the site faced mosquito movement into lawns and outdoor seating areas, especially in the evening. River edges can create damp pockets and shaded resting zones that push mosquitoes towards nearby homes. This impacted daily outdoor use and weekend hosting.
For a hotel that hosts outdoor dining, lawn gatherings, and guest movement across open areas, the need was to reduce mosquito density in a way that stays respectful to the guest experience.
A Thoughtful, Site-Specific Solution
A plan built around the river edge pressure and evening family use. We reviewed the outdoor zones that the family uses most and the likely movement lines from the river edge. We also checked boundary edges and shaded pockets that can hold mosquitoes during the day.
Based on this, we designed a placement plan for steady control.
